Chris Brown Finally Speaks On Meeting, Falling In Love, and What Happened The Night He Assaulted Rihanna!
In his new documentary, Chris Brown is opening up about his troubled relationship with Rihanna.
When Chris Brown and Rihanna started dating, they were the picture perfect couple on the outside. They were both two of the hottest artists at the time and music’s new power couple. Towards the end, Chris had that Doublemint endormsement deal, Rihanna had CoverGirl, and they both dominated the airwaves, but in 2009 we saw the picture perfect image shatter. The headlines were brutal after TMZ posted photos and it was discovered that Chris Brown assaulted his girlfriend and pop princess Rihanna. In a clip from his new documentary titled, ‘Chris Brown: Welcome To My Life’, Chris not only talks in detail about what went down that night, but also what led to the assault. Chris says that it all began when he lied to Rihanna about sleeping with one of his former employees and even though he eventually told her the truth months later, that’s what caused the downfall. He said, “My trust was totally lost with her. She hated me. After that, I tried everything. She didn’t care, she just didn’t trust me after that. From there, it just went downhill because it would be fights, it would be verbal fights, physical fights as well.” He then goes into further detail about their day to day.
He goes on to talk about them both having to come up with excuses for the scratches and covering up bruises with makeup. You may remember Rihanna opened up to Diane Sawyer about her relationship and what happened that night years ago, but when Rihanna sat down with Oprah back in 2012 on Oprah’s Next Chapter, we were reminded how the fall of their relationship affected so many of us and opened up a serious conversation on domestic abuse. In that interview Rihanna talks about forgiving Chris, dealing with the situation so publicly, and why she still loves him.
When referencing that night, Chris says that he didn’t read the full text message from his former fling and that’s what led to the fight because Rihanna assumed that he knew she was going to show up to Clive’s party. Then because of the trust issues that were already there, that’s when the violence began. He says, “I remember she tried to kick me, just like her beating s–t, but then I really hit her. With a closed fist, like I punched her and it busted her lip. And when I saw it I was in shock, I was like, f–k why did I hit her like that? From there she’s spitting blood in my face, it raised me even more. It’s a real fight in the car and we were driving in the street…She tried to grab for my phone, and I’m not giving her my phone, to throw it out the window.”
It’s weird hearing him talking about the incident and their former relationship so many years later, but it clearly still hurts him to this day.
We’ll have to wait and see what else is revealed in the documentary, but let us know what you think about all of this in the comment section below. Domestic violence is never okay. 1. can we just stop? She hit him and he hit her, yeah domestic violence isn't right and I agree with that but SHE forgave HIM and they are both one of the most if not ARE the hottest celebrities out. They were young and troubled because lust was a problem with Chris and Trust issuse were a problem with Rihanna but guess what? THEY GREW UP and you guys need to as well smh talk about being Loyal fans yet yous can even forgive something that they are working on to forgive smh

  2. I love Chris brown and Always have whatever he did in the past was in the past..How many more times does he have to say his sorry? I think people need to give it a rest now! It's been 8 years since the event and I really think people should of forgiven Chris just like Rihanna has and her family and really just move on…

  3. Ah so it was a rage battle then. That explanes the anger management thing though. I mean he did have thatt what have I done moment apparently. But then still he got even more pissed. Meh I don't know. I can't fully judge Chris. I don't know what's in his mind. I don't know why he got more pissed. I don't know what electronically was going threw his brane.

  4. Chris Brown would have been great without this Assault incident, I feel bad for Rihanna. I must say tho I don't think his an abuser, bare in mind before this and after this he hadn't been violent. He did a bad thing & doesn't continue to do it. So I hope he continues to learn from this. And I hope ppl will move on.

  6. It's never okay, but you can't go back in time and fix it. You just have to move on and better yourself. I'm sure if they could go back and change it that they both would. He made a mistake. Just because he has a huge spotlight on him doesn't mean he's not a human like the rest of us. He's a real ass man for owning up to his mistakes and still regretting it to this day. Most of the time you can tell when they're faking shit, but he seemed genuine and honest about it. That's why I continue to support this man. Nothing but love for him.

  7. Like no he shouldn't have hit her BUT she shouldn't have hit him either. They were toxic together and that's what happens when you have two strong willed people in a relationship together. It's going to end bad! He learned from his mistakes though and hopefully she did as well! We all are human and we all do things that are not appealing. We live and we learn!

  8. Just wondering.. why when yall played the clip of him explaining yall skipped the whole first part of the explanation saying how she was beating him up first.. yall went straight to the part of him saying she tried to kick him as if she was the only abusive one..not saying it was right but clevver seems like they were trying to tip the opinion for those who havent seen his movie

  9. I don't get it yes he should not of made her face like that the same as she shouldn't of kicked him and tried to hurt him If she could of she would've done the same to him. Chris got triggered and she forgave him and are friends yet you people who somehow think ur opinion is valid to them say otherwise

  10. I don't think what he did was right but I'm sick of people thinking of this when they hear his name, your past doesn't define you, also she was hurting him how is that different

  11. His career should of ended the night he put her hands on her no respect what's so ever for him he's not a real man no real man would ever put his hands on a women in anger I don't care if she's hitting you, you walk away if she follows you you leave the house if she still comes after you you get in your car and drive away

  12. Excuses, excuses, there's no excuse for beating someone who's clearly physically weaker than you to the point where they look that way! Abusers should not be in the spotlight period. He should retreat to anonymity and shut the f up.

  13. Bro old news.. She clearly moved on n so did u.. Fans don't care about it anymore.. Focus on being a good father even tho ur baby mama a gold digger.. Here's a tip show the Chris everyone fell in love with not the one now.. Cant u see ain't no one liking it.. Change bro instead of always pointing the finger

  14. I feel so bad for Chris, people make mistakes y'alllll dayuuuummmmmmm Riri said she still loves him, everyone has learned something from this situation and CB knows that he learned everything he needed to know in that 5 seconds after hitting her – toxic relationships are real, people can be too matched, and too close for comfort.
